Soon, many of us will be on an airplane heading to Las Vegas for Cisco Live 2022. So I felt that it might be good to put out some final information before we head out. Below you will find some info on the Cisco Events App, Health and Safety info, as well as NetVet reception updates.

Cisco recently updated its Cisco Events application for Cisco Live 2022, this is a must-have application for an attendee. This application is your go-to for everything CIsco Live, as you can see from the images below, it has all the relevant information you need – the Session Catalog, the All Sessions section has your Schedule for the sessions you have signed up for as well.

Cisco Live 2022 – Good vibes again!

It should be safe to say that most of us have had a tough time these past two years, no matter what our view of things – the world has changed around us. We all have been learning to adapt, understand, and cope with what has happened. I am sure that we are all looking to get back to some normalcy in our lives.

“Troubles, they may come and go, but good times, they're the gold.”
― Dave Matthews Band

In the past one of our normalcies has been an event called Cisco Live – or Nerd Camp as some of us have come to affectionately call it. It is a place where you gather with friends who share the same passions, a place where you make new acquaintances, and ultimately a place where we learn new technologies together for the networking world.

Our last in-person event was in 2019 in San Diego, CA – since then Cisco Live has been forced to go online only due to the changes in the world Granted we still got our dose of new technology learning from a firehose with the online sessions, but they are just not the same as being in a classroom setting listening to the speaker. Online sessions are missing the human touch that we get by being in person at the event, by asking questions in the session, by conversing with the speakers after the session, and ultimately by connecting to our peers in the session. Online sessions are missing the interactions we can gain when we are together.

It is that time of year again, just not quite the same as it once was. Once again Cisco Live has been forced to be on-line only due to the pandemic, let us just hope this is the last time as I miss seeing everyone – as I am sure you all do as well.

In case you missed it, Cisco Live is going to be at the end of this month ( March ) for 2-days – the 30th and 31st. This year, unlike last year, there are two pass options – one Explorer (Free) and another All Access ($349). Both seem to give you access to the basics, but the All-Access pass will include the technical sessions. You can see more about the registration here: Registration Packages.

Cisco Live – waiting Everlong for CAE down in Africa

Wow – can you believe that in a few months we will be spending our days at Cisco Live learning from some of the best. (Be Social!)

Cisco Live is just around the corner and what better time to talk about the social aspect of the event. Yes, Cisco Live is a big Tech Learning festival, but it is also been nicknamed _Geek Summer Camp_. Cisco Live is the time of year when a bunch of super smart introverts becomes extroverts for a few days. It does help that they are surrounded by like-minded individuals.

The big opening icebreaker for most of us is the opening TweetUp. This is a great initial gathering where people are there to actually socialize and meet new people. If you attend (and you should) make sure you introduce yourself to someone new.

Another great place to meet others is in the Certification Lounge in World of Solutions. This place is open to anyone who holds a Cisco Certification. Come and meet some of the best and brightest here – come see what new certifications are being worked on – and best of all, usually always has some snacks available!.

A really interesting, and actually the easiest, place to meet someone new is LUNCH! Lunch is typically served with open seating so you are able to sit anywhere and with anyone. It is a great time to find new people to sit with and introduce yourself, share war stories, and just have a good conversation. You can talk about anything – Cars, Technology, the sky – pick a topic and have fun!

Ultimately the Social Media Lounge is the best place to come and meet new and old friends. It is easy to find the area in World of Solutions and there will be seating, tables, charging stations, bikes, games, and a few other things. This really is a place to meet up and tweetup! 🙂

Oh, one thing worth mentioning if you really want to come out of your shell – #KiltedMonday. Yes, it is a thing that has started at Cisco Live. Bring your kilt and have a good time on Monday – you will meet new people and make new friends, that I can assure you. Last year I think that there where some social prizes available later on in the day – not sure if they are Official Prizes, but someone usually has some fun with it.
If you make it to Cisco Live this year – be sure to stop by the TweetUps, Cert Lounge, Social Media Lounge, Lunches, or any place people are gathering and introduce yourself. Just remember to have fun and open up!
Below you will find a stroll down memory lane of some past Cisco Live gatherings. Just some of my fun memories that show the comradery that I have developed over the years.

Cisco Live is just a few weeks away as I write this and I am getting excited to see everyone again. Just wanted to put out a quick post on some of the latest information that has dropped in my inbox.

There will be a few contests this year that will help to keep the social media entertaining. You can find all the information as well as rules and details at the Cisco live Contest website. Below are just some of the highlights.

Cisco Live 2018 is in a few short weeks, can you believe it?!?! Are you as excited as I am to see everyone?

Well, the first opportunity that we will have will be the Arrival TweetUp that is on Sunday, Jun 10 at 5:45 PM Eastern – and you need to register for the event so they know how many will be there. You can find the Arrival Tweetup by searching for SOCGEN-1000 in the Scheduler. Also good to note that the Arrival Tweetup will be in Hall C Atrium, Level 2 in order to accommodate everyone. This is actually right in front of the WoS, so should be easy to find. Oh, and the arrival Tweetup photo is scheduled for 6:10 PM.

Earlier Cisco dropped the band information, and now we have the bag information too!
The bag this year is a first that I can recall, it is a 2 in 1 backpack convertible into a duffle bag! The strap pictured on the front of the image below is detachable, yet when attached the bag can be used as a duffle!

In case you are wondering what Backpack convertible into a duffle bag is, I found some good pics over on <a href="https://www.ebags.com/product/olympia/blitz-22-gym-duffel-with-backpack-straps/360986?productid=10671267" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">eBags</a> of one.

I am sure you are asking yourself what is up with that title? Well, as you can tell from the image above – this post will be about the Customer Appreciation Event – in other words – the BANDS! (Yes, plural!)
The CAE will take place, as has been previously announced, at Universal Studios Florida on Wednesday, June 13th at 7:30 PM. In past CLUS CAE parties, the band has been located shortly after you walked in on the right. I circled the past band location on the map below.
So without further ado, here is the entertainment lineup:

Cisco Live 2018 – Big Ideas Theater

We are just around 60 days or so away from Geek Summer Camp 2018, or more commonly known as Cisco Live 2018. Cisco Live is trying to step up their game this year with the introduction of a Big Ideas Theater at the conference.
What is the Big Ideas Theater? Well, Cisco Live has defined it as “_a diverse line up of thought leaders, strategists, technologists and other provocative voices from across industries designed to inspire and provoke your imagination and the exchange of ideas.” _It will be located in the middle of the Orange County Convention Center.
Also be aware that there is a good chance that the Cisco Live wireless will not reach this location, so be ready with a battery pack when you attend these talks.

These talks will be moderated by Glenn Thayer, The Voice of Meetings and Events. Looking at some of his videos on his website with a cool URL ( http://www.emcee.com/ ), he is a professional moderator. ‘
There are few of these talks that I am looking forward to, definitely Hakeem on Monday and Grant on Tuesday look interesting. Who are you looking forward to seeing/
Below is the schedule of the talk with videos on YouTube for you to check out. These all look to be very motivational, inspirational, and educational talks to attend. It will be a nice break from all the technical talks we always get – these are worth checking out and scheduling!
